Eastbourne Borough boosted their promotion hopes after a controversial 2-1 win at eastern division leaders Salisbury City.
The visitors scored a hotly disputed second goal and, in the seventh minute of injury time, Salisbury defender Andy Cook thought he had equalised.
But referee Richard Greenwood had already blown the final whistle with the ball on its way into the net, much to the disgust of the home side.
It was a fitting end to a controversial and entertaining game which leaves Borough back into contention for a promotion place.
Borough out-battled Salisbury in the first half and deserved their 2-0 lead.
Peter Baker scored his first goal for the club with a stunning 20 yard volley on 23 minutes before Scott Ramsay made it two on 41 minutes.
Stuart Tuck's long pass forward was chased down by Ramsay and he challenged the keeper who lost control of the ball.
Ramsay managed to take advantage and roll the ball into an empty net and, although the Salisbury players contested the goal, the referee allowed it.
Mr Greenwood was centre of attention again five minutes into the second half when he sent off Borough's Matt Smart for two bookings in the space of a minute. The first was for speaking out of term to the referee, the second for a late challenge on Ian Herring.
It was backs-to-the-wall time for Borough and in the 72nd minute the home side pulled a goal back through Callum Burt.
