A dominant second-half performance by Lewes failed to prevent a third consecutive draw for the promotion-chasers as they were held to a 1-1 draw on an awful surface at Staines.
Lewes fell behind in the sixth minute when Sean Reed crossed to the unmarked Craig Reilly who headed over Russell Tanner.
The Rooks equalised on 20 minutes after a free kick move between Ross Venables and Paul Kennett resulted in a cross which Stuart Hack headed past Matthew Lovett.
Two minutes after the restart Lewes had an excellent chance to take the lead when Venables threaded a pass to the feet of Gareth Green, but fron the left side of the area he blazed his shot well over with only Lovett to beat.
Nine minutes from time a cross-shot from Tony Reid struck the crossbar and on 87 minutes Lee Newman saw his goalbound shot saved at full stretch by Lovett.
