A disabled pensioner was killed when his battery-powered invalid carriage was in collision with a car.
Anthony Darbyshire, 69, was hit by a silver blue Mitsubishi Gallant as he tried to cross a road at Lion Hill, Stone Cross, near Eastbourne.
Motorists and residents dialled 999 but Mr Darbyshire, from Stone Cross, died later at the Eastbourne District General Hospital at noon on Saturday.
The male driver of the car, his wife and their ten-month-old baby, from Eastbourne, escaped serious injury but sustained shock.
