Brighton maintained a 12-point lead at the top of the Kent/Sussex Regional League with a 5-2 win at Herne Bay despite being without 38-goal striker Craig Carolan.
Carolan was away on coaching duty with South Africa at the World Indoor Championships but Brighton hardly missed him.
New signing Pietro Attala, a former Canterbury and Southgate player, came in for his debut and put Brighton ahead from a short corner.
Herne Bay levelled before half-time but Brighton imposed themselves on the game in the second half with goals coming from Richard Cooke (two), Graham Pruce and skipper Carlo Missirian.
