Worthing were leapfrogged in the Kent/Sussex Regional League after losing 3-2 amid controversy at Sevenoaks.
The home side were awarded a penalty corner on the final whistle when James Godber was harshly adjudged to be deliberately stopping them from taking a free hit.
From the corner, the initial shot was blocked and in the process Worthing's Lee Martin was accidentally struck on the head by a stick, leaving him on the ground in the middle of the D. However, play went on and Sevenoaks retrieved the ball to score a winner.
Worthing skipper David Edmondson said: "It was one of the poorest pieces of umpiring I have ever witnessed as play should always be stopped for a head injury especially when that player is left stranded in the line of fire."
Edmondson and Mark Duncan had combined for Ramiz Inga to fire Worthing into a half-time lead. The hosts scored twice after the break but Dan Lock replied with a good finish for what seemed to be a well-earned point for the visitors.
