Heathfield are hoping their injuries clear up in time to help them stave off relegation after another day of frustration in London Four South East.

Heath went down 21-19 at home to Folkestone and are bottom of the table with four games to go.

Having won promotion from Sussex One in a play-off last season, they have found the going tough this time around, not helped by having six members of the pack who started the season sidelined by injury.

There has been a shortage of effort by the stand-ins.

Nick Evans scored his first try for the front side with fellow lock Tim Evans and flanker Will Stutchbury also going over. Will Drinkwater added two conversions.

There are also Sussex teams fighting the drop in Three South East, including East Grinstead, who went down 20-7 at home to Sidcup. Kevin Pike scored their last minute try with Stuart Sorrell converting.

Eastbourne took a 7-0 lead but still lost at Lewes, their ninth league defeat in a row. Sam Gower scored at the posts to round off a bright start by the visitors, with Ollie Cummings converting, but Dave Hemsley replied with an unconverted try after a lineout.

Neil Rumble's penalty gave Lewes an 8-7 interval lead and their superiority at the set pieces went on to prove decisive.

Two basic errors by the visitors in the second half, one from a quick throw-in, the other from a poor drop out, allowed Matt Sole to profit from a pushover try and left wing Liam Craig-Davies to hack through for an easy touchdown. Rumble added one conversion.

Brighton arrived late at Charlton Park due to heavy traffic, overcame an 8-0 deficit to lead, then conceded late points and lost 19-9.

Mark Gibb kicked three penalties but missed three more in a dour second half.

Worthing grabbed a stoppage time drop goal to stay top of London Two South but coach Ian Davies did not see it.

He had already left the touchline at Sevenoaks out of disgust with his side's display.

The hosts had just gone 13-12 up on 80 minutes with a drop goal but Ben Coulson replied in kind with a left foot attempt which scraped over the bar.

That clinched a 15-13 win for Worthing, but it was unimpressive stuff and they are struggling to hold off Gosport and Fareham, who won 37-0 at home to Beckenham.

Davies said: "When Sevenoaks went back ahead I went in for a shower. It was such an inept performance I couldn't see us getting back in front.

"When the players came in they told me we had won but there weren't any celebrations."

Sevenoaks were 10-0 up at one stage but Coulson kicked four penalties and the hosts had a man sent-off after 60 minutes.

Old Brightonians need three points from their last two games to clinch the Sussex Three title.

Their game with Ditchling was closer than the 36-23 result suggests but tries from Seb Akillian, Dougie Edmonds, Tom Howell, Saul Green, Sam Howse and Steve Humphries clinched it. Lee Hubble (2), Chris Atkinson and Dan Challenor replied.

Lock Ian Trevis scored both Shoreham's tries in their 17-6 win at Robertsbridge.

Plumpton defended well and took their chances to grab their first league win of the season as Arun were beaten 17-5. The hosts came from five points down to score through Andrew Montgomery, Ian Ladd and Dave Lamb. Petty, whose cross kick set up Ladd's try, also slotted a conversion.
