John Reilly's letter (February 8) asking who is going to pay for the damage done to the asphalt by the striking firefighters' brazier reminded me of that old Beatles line "Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire".
Well, I reckon by the state of the roads in Brighton and Hove, there must be just as many and, just like the damaged asphalt outside the fire station, they and it are not being attended to by Brighton and Hove City Council.
