I must congratulate The Argus on the excellent coverage of the Palace Pier last week - a wonderful memento for us ex-Brightonians who sometimes feel slightly rejected and ignored by this new city-by-the-sea.
I am glad to see everyone referred to the Palace Pier by its proper name and not the new one dreamed up by the present owners.
How can a place with two piers have one named after the town while the other is slowly sinking into the sea?
How can the owners of the Palace Pier be so uncaring about the fate of the West Pier they would implement such treacherous delaying tactics in order that the West Pier would eventually be lost?
Do they not realise the two piers together have such a historic value and, with the Volks railway, the Royal Pavilion and the Lanes, Brighton is unequalled in its wonders?
