The cream of the music industry will descend on Brighton and Hove later this year for seven days of musical mayhem.
BBC Radio 1 is bringing its popular One Live event to the city and hundreds of gigs, DJ sets and special events are being planned.
Acts are being kept under wraps but last year's One Live in Nottingham drew show-stoppers such as Doves, The Vines, The Streets, The Coral and DJ Shadow.
Radio 1 disc jockeys Jo Whiley, John Peel, Sara Cox and the Dreem Teem are also set to present their programmes from the resort.
Jason Carter, executive producer of the station's live music and events, told city residents to expect "some huge headline acts".
He said: "One Live in Brighton will build on Radio 1's support for new music delivering some of the best UK and international artists to one city across one week.
"It's an opportunity for Radio 1 to support new artists and music in the region through a live music fringe festival, panels and music industry seminars."
The city has a host of venues available including the Brighton Centre, the Dome, the Corn Exchange and Concorde 2.
Alison Hildyard, marketing officer for Concorde 2 said with there being no Big Beach Boutique this year it was great for the city to secure such a prestigious festival.
She said: "We are still waiting to hear about the line-up but it was amazing last year and we are hoping for something similar."
Alison confirmed the venue was planning to stage something different each night.
Smaller acts will also get a stage at the sister Fringe festival, which will provide local artists with an audience of millions of listeners over the airwaves.
Last year's event has been credited with helping put Nottingham on the map in terms of live music.
In 2001 Birmingham played host to the likes of Pulp, the Charlatans, Basement Jaxx and Starsailor.
One Live in Brighton and Hove will run from October 24 to October 30.
It will bring to a close Radio 1's year of live music which also includes various summer festivals and a stint in Ibiza.
