The strongest line-up for ten years will contest the All-Sussex Senior Championships at Fontwell on March 2.

Ritchie Venner (Hastings) is the No.1 seed with holder Mayur Majithia (Crawley) at No.5. The third and fourth seeds will be British League and former Horsham aces Adrian Moore and Nigel Eckersley.

Moore has not played in this event for six years and Eckersley will be making his debut.

Majithia, making a comeback from a long-standing ankle injury, lifted his second Crawley championship trophy, beating Venner 13-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7 in an epic final.

Venner's fall to No.39 on the national ranking list is partly due to the new service rules. His service now carries far less venom.

In the Crawley event, Venner beat Chris Munday and Majithia stopped Terry Haley in the semi-finals.

Sally Weston, too good to play in the women's singles, played in the men's event and reached the third round before losing to Horsham team captain, Graham Carter.

Rose Rainton will be bidding for her seventh Sussex title at Fontwell. In the absence of Weston, she should have an easy task.
