Last Friday found the Honeyclub banging along to the sounds of superclub Cream's relaunched Brighton residency.
The infamous clubbing brand launched last year at the Concorde 2 but has now come to the Honeyclub - arguably a more suitable venue for the sort of glamour Cream is most associated with.
The club truly shook as Louis Edwards, Tom Stephan and Paul Hillyer did their chunky, funky, hard-hitting house thing in the main room. Resistance was utterly futile.
Giant screens played and replayed the Cream logo (and it must be said, pictures of the exuberant crowd), while inflatable versions of the logo patrolled the space above the dance floor.
Johnny Nicely, Honeyclub DJ, rising star and all-round smiley bloke, dropped a set of old skool and uplifting house in the backroom while we waved our hands in the air like we didn't care.
The balcony area offered a fantastic view of people's on-the-floor antics and everyone seemed to have fun. We were smiling so much we went home with aching faces.
Cream returns to Brighton on March 7 with Futureshock headlining. It runs 10pm to 3am. Admission is £10. Call 01273 202807.
