Nutritionist Martina Watts, in her usual informative column (The Argus Weekend, February 8), considered road rage and suggested motorists should carry a "sorry" sign to show irate drivers when one has inadvertently made an inconsiderate move or cut them up.
I have found in such circumstances the forming of a gun with a fist and two fingers and pointing it to one's head to show one is at fault, foolish and sorry usually calms the situation and the other driver can go on his way with a superior attitude.
It is sometimes worth doing it to a driver who obviously thinks he is in the right and is gesticulating or sounding his horn at you when you know he was at fault. He can then go on his way and you can mutter "idiot". It takes the rage out of the situation.
