Tomorrow, there will be an opportunity to hear at first hand what life is like in Zimbabwe and of the assistance being given by the churches there to help the population, when the Reverend David Winwood will be speaking in the Central Methodist Church, Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, at 1.30pm.
Mr Winwood spent a number of years as a methodist minister in Zimbabwe and now has pastoral charge of the Methodist Church in Haywards Heath.
Mr Winwood keeps in touch through email with church leaders and community workers in Zimbabwe and will be describing what life is like for the general population.
His church recently donated cash to assist with the church outreach work in the community, where many are unemployed because of the takeover of white-owned farms and are unable to afford the cost of food due to the high inflation.
The meeting is open to anyone interested.
