Sixty members of staff and guests were evacuated from a Mid Sussex hotel when the roof caught fire.
Four fire crews were called to the blaze on the flat roof of the Holiday Inn, Langley Drive, Langley Green, Crawley, at 1.20pm yesterday.
Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control and the fire was out within half-an-hour.
Police said all the staff and guests were accounted for. Fire investigators at the scene said they did not believe the cause was suspicious.
A spokeswoman said: "We do not know the cause for certain but it is believed to have been started by workmen's materials on the roof."
