Hooray for Saturday's demo in London. The Government will have heard the protesters' message and I hope Labour voters who were perhaps intending to punish hard-working Labour councillors (many of whom were with them in Hyde Park) by voting Green, Lib Dem or not at all will save their protest vote for a General Election.
If they use a protest vote in the May elections for Brighton and Hove City Council, they risk letting in a Conservative-led council, which will slash public services, unravel the good work done by the council over the past 20 years and, no doubt, enthusiastically support George W Bush.
