After reading the article about the grenade threat at Gatwick Airport (The Argus, February 14), one has to realise these kinds of threats can happen anywhere and at any time.
I feel safe with the security dealing with these threats at the airports in the UK.
I have lived here for 12 years and I travel back home to the US a couple of times a year.
I see the security on both sides of the Atlantic and, believe me, I am and forever will be impressed by the way terrorism is dealt with in the UK.
This country has been far ahead of the US in airport security for years.
What I cannot understand is why people are more interested in the fact they are being delayed from flying and cannot make their destination on time.
I say, stop moaning. A delay is a small price to pay. The bottom line is, readers, airport security is tight and, if it keeps me safe when I travel, so be it.
