Last week, I drove from Saltdean to Burgess Hill via Woodingdean, the A27 and A23.
How can the officials who promote and run Brighton and Hove have the temerity to have imagined it should have been awarded a cultural award?
In my book, "culture" extends to environment. The route I took has hedgerows festooned with plastic and verges and roundabouts awash with every kind of litter imaginable.
What a disgraceful environmental message to sent out to those visitors who have the courage to drive through a tide of filth to enjoy the delights of the city.
