Sarah Fielding-Smith and Wade Bennett-Jackson have been included in the England under-18s team for the indoor international against Belgium in Ghent next month.
Fielding-Smith (Brighton and Hove) recently won the national under-17s high jump title at Birmingham (1.69m) and hopes for more success at her specialist event on the continent in ten days time.
She said: "I heard a whisper that I might get an invitation for Ghent but I could not believe it when it arrived.
"It's great. I still have another track season in the age group and I feel I can do much better.
"My main aim for the year is the All England Schools Championships at Sheffield in July although there will be several hurdles to get over before then. But I must concentrate on Ghent for the next few days."
She is coached by Mike Dalby which means frequent weekend visits to the indoor training centre at Birmingham.
Former national schools sprint champion Bennett-Jackson (Worthing) is in the relay team.
He won two medals at the national indoor under-17s' championships, claiming a silver at 200m and bronze at 60m.
Sussex teams produced fine performances in the South Of England schools' inter-county match at Fawley in Hampshire.
They were third in three of the four team events behind Essex and the home team.
Many athletes missed the event to prepare for this weekend's National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill.
Tom Bilham (Midhurst) turned the tables on county rival Stephen Jules (Filsham Valley, Hastings) in the boys' under-17s race.
In the Sussex Schools event two weeks ago, Jules pipped Bilham for the title.
But Bilham was fourth and Jules seventh a few yards behind at Fawley.
Katy Moore (Brighton and Hove High) was eighth in the girls' race, just ahead of an improving Sarah Garrett (Durrington) in ninth.
Chris West (Bishop Luffa) was ninth in the boys' under-15s race.
