Scores of friends are set to line the streets today for the funeral procession of a promising rapper.
Jim Pracy, also known as Jah P, was a former Brighton schoolboy hoping for a career as a rap musician.
The 18-year-old, a member of the Brighton Crew, was found dead last Wednesday.
Jim's mother, Brighton and Hove's town crier Margaret Pracy, said she wanted the funeral to celebrate his life.
Madam Pracy, of St George's Road, Brighton, said: "Jim was a Brighton boy, born and bred. He was a promising rapper and part of the Brighton Crew.
"His death, so soon after his 18th birthday, has united us. I have been hugely comforted by the wealth of love and practical help which has flowed out to me from the community."
She said her son was a "very creative man".
He won an assisted scholarship to Brighton College but instead chose to go to Falmer School and then attended Varndean briefly.
The procession will leave from the bottom of Elm Grove at noon today, with the service starting at 1pm.
Jim's body will be carried by a horse-drawn cart to Woodvale crematorium and Madam Pracy said she expected a large number to join or observe.
Anyone wishing to join the cortege is welcome as it meanders through the streets to the crematorium.
Jim's two sisters and brother are also expected to attend the procession as well as members of the festival-going community.
The Brighton Crew comprises dozens of people, young and old, many of whom express themselves through rapping.
