Excited pupils were among the first to hear a former boy band star's debut solo single.
Wayne Williams, who used to be with chart-topping R&B group Another Level, performed "Anything's Possible" at Broadfield East Middle School, Crawley.
It is his first commercial release since the split-up of the band was announced by lead singer Dane Bowers in 2000.
The performer was inspired to pen the song after meeting girlfriend Danielle Brown, sister of Spice Girl Melanie B. The single includes a remix featuring Keisha from the Sugarbabes.
Williams also took time out to talk with pupils.
The track is out on March 17.
