A man had his jaw reconstructed after being beaten by a gang in an unprovoked attack outside Crawley railway station.
The 23-year-old had his jaw fractured in three places during the vicious assault and spent three days in hospital.
It happened at 2.20am on Sunday February 9 as the man returned home from a night at the Ikon club in Crawley.
He was taken to St George's hospital in Tooting, London, where he had metal plates inserted into his jaw which may have to remain there for the rest of his life. He is now recovering at home.
The 6ft 4in victim, from Crawley, did not see the attackers. No weapons were used in the attack and its not known in what direction the gang fled.
Detective Constable Julian Deans, of Crawley police, said: "The victim had been at Ikon with some friends but had become separated when the attack took place.
"It's not known where the offenders came from or what they looked like. The victim would have been distinctive-looking, however, because he is a big man and 6ft 4in tall."
Anyone with information should call Crawley CID on 0845 6070999.
