Form side Eastbourne Borough refuse to think about promotion despite notching their fourth straight eastern division victory in midweek.
A 4-0 triumph over St Leonards on Tuesday elevated Borough to fifth in the table and established them as genuine contenders in a congested-looking race for the title.
They are just three points behind leaders Banbury and trail second-placed Salisbury by two points. The top two are promoted to the premier division.
But coach Nick Greenwood and manager Garry Wilson are not getting carried away.
Greenwood said: "The promotion word is not banned from the dressing room but it would be ridiculous to talk about it with 17 or 18 games still to go.
"We can only concentrate on each game at a time and not look that far ahead.
"We must take advantage of our good form and put together a decent run.
"We are going well but so are other sides ."
Wilson said: "There is too far to go to talk about promotion. All the sides up there are playing each other and a lot can happen.
"We have a difficult run-in away from home but so do other sides around us. It is important we keep grinding out results as other sides have faltered around us at the top. We must just keep plugging away and see where we end up."
Borough travel to Sittingbourne tomorrow and could face a stiff test.
Wilson said: "They are another in-form side so it is a bad time to play them but we are capable of winning.
"They still have the same set-up as earlier in the season and if we are going to stay in the promotion frame and think about the premier division, these are the sort of teams we need to beat."
Matt Smart misses the trip with a one-game suspension following his dismissal against Salisbury for two bookable offences.
