Two men were taken to hospital following a head-on car smash in Haywards Heath.
Firefighters from Haywards Heath and Crawley, two ambulances and six police cars attended the crash outside Balcombe Place Care Home, Balcombe Road, Haywards Heath at 9.30am yesterday.
The 23-year-old male driver of a Vauxhall Astra estate was treated by paramedics at the scene for neck and back pain. His car had rolled over on to the grass verge by the care home.
Another man, also in his 20s, had to be cut out of the wreck of his Ford Escort by firefighters and suffered cuts and bruises.
Both were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
A firefighter who attended the scene said: "We cut out the young man from the Escort. He was a brave lad and didn't complain. He had been on his way to an interview."
The victims were not named by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
