Youth will be the theme of this year's Durrington carnival.
The event will be held on June 14 and wind through the streets of Durrington, ending at - and signalling the opening of - the village fayre on Lamb Park.
Dave Butler, co-founder and committee member of the Durrington Festival, said: "As the festival reaches its teenage years, what better theme for the carnival than youth.
"Not only does it tie in with the on-going Youth Provision project in Durrington, headed by Nick Rogers, but also with the new Mayor of Worthing's chosen theme."
Peter Bloxham, committee member and carnival organiser, said: "Youth is not just a matter of age.
"Not only are we looking for carnival entries from nurseries, schools, churches and youth groups but also from local firms, nursing homes and maybe even groups representing streets or estates.
"We hope this year's carnival will be the biggest yet and that it will help to promote a better understanding of youth in Durrington.
"We also hope to be able to offer local youth bands a chance to perform at the concert in the park and are looking for any band or performers to contact us."
Mr Rogers, chairman of the Youth Provision scheme, welcomed the festival committee's involvement.
He said: "We want to involve the whole community and what better way than with this long-standing event."
