Burgess Hill crashed out of their third cup competition in 18 days to leave them with only the league to play for in Danny Bloor's first season in charge.
Two goals in the last eight minutes sent division two side Rye and Iden wild with delight as it completed an unlikely 2-1 comeback win and booked them a semi-final against Crawley.
Both sides had notable absentees but it was still an immensely disappointing replay following a goalless draw at Rye ten days earlier.
An unforced error by Rye's occasional keeper Olly Oxley gifted Hillians an 18th minute lead through makeshift striker Ben Andrews. The former Albion defender was left with a simple tap-in when Oxley dropped a Nicky Sullivan cross.
It looked like staying at 1-0 until ten minutes from time when Shaun Loft set up Micky O'Callaghan to volley a well taken equaliser and with only two minutes remaining O'Callaghan returned the favour for Loft to leave the hosts dumb struck.
