Gaving Geddes scored his 31st goal of the season as Horsham won 1-0 away to Met Police to go second in division one south.
The hosts were unbeaten in their last six games going into this match and made the better start.
They had the ball in the net in the fourth minute when Eric Tomlinson headed in from Jon Daly's flick on but the strike was ruled out for offside.
A minute later Horsham took the lead. Lee Carney floated a 30 yard free-kick to the far post and Geddes headed in across goalkeeper Stuart MacKenzie.
MacKenzie kept the Police in the game in the 80th minute when he just managed to push Gary Charman's angled drive around the post but on the whole it was an uninspiring match with few clear cut chances.
