As a reader of The Argus for longer than I care to remember, I was somewhat disappointed not to find a review of last week's truly outstanding production of The Pirates Of Penzance, presented by the Brighton Theatre Group Youth Group at the Windmill Theatre, Blatchington Mill.
The production was both brilliantly produced and presented and featured some
of Brighton and Hove's outstanding young theatrical talent.
Indeed, I am sure at least two of the leads (aged 16) should surely see their next stage appearances in London's West End so professional were their performances.
While I will readily admit to a slight bias (two grandchildren were pirates), I took my seat on my first visit full of trepidation.
However, the show was so good I saw it three times and each time it just got better.
As someone who has had a hand in producing a great many professional presentations and visiting both regional and London shows, I have seen quite a few turkeys in my time (both professional and amateur) so all at Brighton Theatre Group should be congratulated for their hard work and dedication.
How about a review of their next production?
