I was saddened to read the views of the 15-year-old girl who is fearful of walking the streets of Brighton and Hove.
She is the future yet is being denied the opportunity to have the full and open life she is entitled to. Why? Because we have all surrendered to the yobs.
Brighton and Hove City Council has closed public toilets because of vandalism and damage. There are no park keepers to ensure youngsters can enjoy the environment - surrender to the yobbos.
Public transport companies have cut back on staff so people can feel neither safe nor comfortable - surrender to the yobbos.
The police regard vandalism, robbery and antisocial behaviour as a low priority - surrender to the yobbos.
The justice system slaps youngsters' wrists when they appear in court and bends over backwards time and again so as not to upset the little darlings - surrender to the yobbos.
For some reason in this country, we have decided a small minority of male children should be allowed to grow up in the belief they can do whatever they like regardless of the consequences to the rest of us.
All our lives will continue to be blighted unless and until we choose differently.
