The poem by Samantha More (Letters February 19) deserves a response:

I sniff for war -

More people, more people,

All want more.

Resources limited, water scarce in Palestine,

More people saved by doctors,

More born premature, alive though not well,

More oil for more cars.

And still we want more and more and more.

That is the beginning and the end of the war.
