With reference to V Holden's concerns about the Scout and Guide parade on St George's Day (Letters, February 25), both organisations have been very disappointed over the past four years that this very popular and important local event has not been able to take place in traditional form due both to the refurbishment of the Dome and the very high cost of hiring this venue and the only other venue large enough, the Brighton Centre.
However, with the Dome complex being available again and with the co-operation of the local authority and police, it has been possible to negotiate a cost that can be borne by these two youth organisations so this wonderful occasion can again take place.
It will be held during the morning of Sunday, April 27. Therefore I hope everyone who has enjoyed this event in the past will, once again, derive great pleasure from these splendid young people proudly parading their standards through the streets and will, perhaps, be pleased to join them in their annual service of renewal of their promises in the Dome.
