The family of a lorry driver who loved his job thought it was only fitting it should feature in his funeral.
They arranged for Brian Rendell's coffin to be carried on the car-carrier truck he used to drive.
Managers at Yeoman's Toyota in Yeoman Road, Durrington, where Mr Rendell had worked for 25 years took the lorry out of service especially for the day.
Mr Rendell's son Andy, from Worthing, said: "He really loved his job. I think he would have approved of the idea for his coffin."
Mr Rendell, who had eight grandchildren, and lived in Palmer Road, Angmering, near Littlehampton, died of a heart attack while at work on February 13. He was 58.
He was a keen football fan and had been a linesman for 23 years.
The funeral procession made its way from Palmer Road to St Margaret's Church for the funeral and burial yesterday.
