Oakwood gave a debuts to James Grant, who has been signed from Horsham for the remainder of the season, and substitute Simon Heavens who set up the final goal for Newman.
Lancing claimed their first win since December 28 as they beat bottom side Oving 3-1 with goals from Jamie Cole (two) and Ben Shelford. Ian Wallace hit a late reply.
Westfield moved into the top ten with a 1-0 defeat of Seaford.
The only goal came nine minutes from time when Alan Johnson sent Duncan Jones clear to slot past home keeper Dean Lightwood.
Earlier, Seaford's Adam Kneller had a first-half penalty superbly saved by Paul Worthington and the same player hit the angle of the upright with an overhead kick.
Manager Allan Winton missed Broadbridge Heath's 4-0 win over Worthing United as he was celebrating his 40th birthday in Madrid.
Winton said: "At 5pm I was straight on the phone to my coach Sam Chapman. I thought that sort of result had been coming for a while. It helped me celebrate the evening even more."
Russell Harwood hit a hat-trick and Ramin Jarvand got the other.
