Lee Sale and Jimmy Sneddon got the goals as Wealden became the first side this season to beat Eastbourne Town in County League division two.
The leaders went into this game unbeaten in 25 matches but manager Gary Allen's game plan paid dividends as Wealden claimed a 2-0 win.
Allen decided on an experienced line-up to face Eastbourne Town's exciting young side.
He said: "I changed the side a bit and ensured that everybody within the club who had played division one football was in the starting line-up. I left some of our youngsters out. We got stuck in and won the midfield. It was a case of doing a job and it paid off."
Town retained their 14-point lead at the top as second-placed East Grinstead went down 2-1 away to second from bottom Pease Pottage.
