Worthing schoolchildren are needed to represent the town at the Sussex Youth Games this summer.
The event, which attracts hundreds of youngsters, is being held in Horsham on June 8 and competitors from the borough are needed.
Julian Stevens, leisure development manager for Worthing Borough Council, said: "There will be competitions in a diverse range of activities, including athletics, tag rugby, girls' football, netball and tennis.
"We see this event as an opportunity for everybody to have a go and maybe we will find some undiscovered talent.
"But the main aim is to have fun. For the lucky ones who are picked for Team Worthing it is an experience of a lifetime. It was especially so in 2002, when Worthing was the winner of the overall team trophy.
"We are particularly keen to hear from lads in Years 8 and 9 who would like to take part in the basketball competition and from boys and girls with an interest in tag rugby."
Anybody wanting a trial should contact Liz Squires, the council's youth sports development officer, on 01903 221121.
Worthing's kit and transport has, for the third year running, been sponsored by Heather Hilder-Darling, of RW Hilder and Company.
Mr Stevens said: "This support has been vital in enabling us to enter a team in each sports competition."
