Police are hunting two men who stormed into the Thresher off-licence in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, and threatened staff with a knife.
It happened at a branch close to Co-Op in the town centre at about 3.20pm on February 28.
The man holding the knife was described by traumatised shop staff as being white, 6ft tall, wearing a green anorak with the hood pulled over his head and yellow gloves.
The other man was Afro-Caribbean, 5ft tall and wore a light blue fleece and black leather gloves.
They attempted to seize cash from the shop till but fled with just a mobile phone because they were unable to get into the cash drawer.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555111.
