Police say they are "saddened" that Sussex Action For Peace did not negotiate with them about the protest in Brighton on Saturday.
There are several reasons why we decided against this. In November, we had a so-called "legal" demonstration that was planned with the police.
This was very time-consuming and frustrating for the individuals involved.
The police kept changing their minds about which route we were allowed to follow. The final march was very short and away from the city centre.
More importantly, however, this protest was intended as peaceful civil disobedience and, as such, was a success.
Unfortunately, the police are not so peaceful. We have had millions on the streets in legal demos yet Tony Blair continues to ignore mass public opinion.
If Mr Blair does assist George W Bush in the murder of thousands of Iraqi people, more civil disobedience will follow.
Many trade unions will call for strike action, students will occupy colleges and, all over the country, people will take to the streets and bring traffic to a standstill, as we did on Saturday.
Yes, this is against the law but, throughout history, people have had to break the law when their governments' actions were objectionable.
Remember the Suffragettes, the Civil Rights movement in the US, the anti-Vietnam protests and the resistance to the Poll Tax, to name just a few?
The anti-war movement is huge and growing by the day. We must keep the pressure up. We can stop this war.
