A schoolgirl who vanished, sparking an international search, has been found safe and well in Peru.
Micaela Page, 15, disappeared from her Brighton home on Monday taking with her a passport, a red suitcase and £350 in cash.
Relatives contacted police this morning informing them Micaela was in Peru, where her grandmother and ex-boyfriend live.
A police spokesman said: "We were informed she was safe and well after she made contact with her family.
"She is in Peru and as far as we are concerned our inquiry is now at an end."
Micaela moved to Sussex from Peru with her mother, Ursula Page, 38, and sister Andrea, nine, in October.
She has since had problems settling in at her new school Patcham High.
Mrs Page, of Brangwyn Crescent, Patcham, said: "Micaela made new friends at school but then fell out with them and she didn't want to go to school.
"I told her she had to keep going but she crept out of the house early on Monday morning while I was still asleep."
It is believed Micaela flew from Gatwick to Lima Airport.
