I saw a TV programme last week which transported my mind back 63 years to Marine Parade, Brighton, when I waited at the bus stop at the bottom of Bloomsbury Place in the bitter wind most days to go to my job at the Fire College in Saltdean.
The war was on and my husband stood on the cliffs and watched the "buzz bombs" making their way up to London.
"I wonder who will get that tonight?" we said. The programme featured Dora Bryan at her house, which I remember her buying and am very glad to know she still lives there.
Sir Laurence Olivier was restoring his house at 10 Royal Crescent, too. It is a shame he is no longer there.
The rest is unpleasant history and there are things I want to try to forget but cannot, such as the house I lived in in College Place being infested with mice.
Never mind, I am still here. I wish all in Brighton and Hove good luck.
