Eastbourne's only adult shop has closed down less than a year after opening.

Rated 18 opened last July, selling erotic clothes, sex toys, adult videos and magazines.

But the shop, in Seaside, Eastbourne, has now closed.

A previous adult store in Eastbourne had to shut through lack of interest.

The Seaside shop was for over-18s, with staff asking anyone looking under-age to show proof of identity.

Its co-owner, Daniel Austin, 24, said before its opening that he wanted to steer clear of the "gutter image" of adult shops.

He said: "Our main aim was to keep away from the seedy side of it. We are just here to offer a service to anyone who wants to use it."
