On February 5, I posted two envelopes, stamped first class, both addressed to the same local recipient (21st birthday on February 7) in
the post box at the junction of Blatchington Road and Haddington Street, Hove. My envelope containing a cheque arrived.
The envelope from my elderly parents (a money card purchased at a Post Office shop and containing a £20 Virgin voucher) did not.
I have been emailing the Post Office since February 12 and, apart from assurances of inquiries at some stage in some future century, I have received no response.
I am furious. My parents can ill afford to replace this voucher. What on Earth can we have trust in if the Royal Mail is inefficient (where has the envelope gone?), corrupt or just plain useless?
Who is profiteering here? Certainly not my pensioner parents on a fixed income. I hope the person responsible for this has a conscience and elderly parents of their own.
