South Central trains has been operating the new fleet of trains on the 7.17 and the 19.08 for the past two weeks.

At both London Victoria and Brighton station, an army of cleaners boards the trains and cleans them. However, on my way home on Thursday, I took the 14.08 from Victoria, which was the filthiest train I have ever travelled on.

I sat on this train at Victoria for 20 minutes, where there was a cleaner outside with cleaning materials but who did not board the train.

I telephoned South Central to complain but was fobbed off with an excuse about quick turn-arounds: "We have no time at Victoria to clean the train."
