Members of the Worthing Combined Ex-Servicemen's Association are to carry out a spring clean of the war graves in Broadwater Cemetery at the end of the month.
They will be helped by the Durrington Sea Scouts and members of the community who have adopted individual graves and care for them on a regular basis.
Any residents who are interested in helping should meet at the Carnegie Road entrance to the cemetery on Saturday, March 29, at 1pm.
On Saturday, April 5, Worthing Borough Council has permitted the Army Benevolent Fund (West Sussex) to hold a flag day in Worthing.
Any serving or retired Army personnel who would like to give a little of their time to help are asked to call Major Tom Wye on 01903 267227, who will pass on all details.
Major Wye said: "Please help our lads and their families, who are currently being asked to make tremendous sacrifices across the many trouble spots of the world.
"Last year the fund distributed £67,000 of grants to the local ex-military community.
"We now need to raise more funds to ensure this aid continues."
