Lewes dropped more valuable points as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to a poor Metropolitan Police side in division one south.
The Rooks started brightly in the first period with all their main chances falling to Lee Newman.
After six minutes he beat goalkeeper Stuart Mackenzie to a loose ball wide on the left but was unable to convert from a difficult angle.
Five minutes later after creating space he presented Mackenzie with a comfortable save with Paul Kennett seemingly better placed for a routine tap-in.
After the restart Lewes lost their way and it was no surprise to see the Police take the lead, albeit from the penalty spot, on 62 minutes after Russell Tanner brought down Symon James. Des Boateng duly converted the spot kick.
The Rooks equalised in the 73rd minute after a punched clearance from Mackenzie saw the ball fall to Danny Wright and he struck a glorious 25 yard rising drive that flashed into the net.
