A trio of St John Ambulance cadets from Sussex are off to Buckingham Palace next week to meet their Commandant-in-Chief, the Princess Royal.
Sarah Bloom, 16, from Crawley, Maria Russell, 17, from Hailsham, and Chris Roots, 16, from Worthing, will have an opportunity to tell the princess about their role as cadets.
Chris has been judged the Sussex County cadet of the year.
Sarah and Maria are Grand Prior cadets, having gained the highest recognition they can achieve, which involves at least three years studying in 12 areas of expertise.
St John cadets are young volunteers between the ages of ten and 18.
