Another controlled parking scheme has been agreed in principle by Brighton and Hove councillors.
The environment committee has approved a scheme for Westbourne ward south of Portland Road.
People were generally in favour of controlled parking but in Poets Corner, north of Portland Road, they were not so sure.
The council will now reconsult people in Poets Corner, pointing out the effect on the area if the Westbourne south proposals come into effect.
Transport councillor Simon Battle said: "There will be easier parking for residents with better enforcement."
Tory spokesman Ted Kemble said: "On the whole we are pleased with what is going on."
The committee also agreed to improvements to the existing central Hove and Brunswick parking schemes which will give more parking spaces.
Coun Battle said: "It will be much better after the changes."
Brunswick Lib Dem councillor Paul Elgood welcomed the proposals but warned there would be further pressure when the new Goldsmid scheme came on line next week.
