Lewes revived their promotion hopes with a convincing 5-1 win at bottom club Chertsey in Division One South.
The Rooks opened the scoring in the second minute when Chris Dickson floated a ball into the penalty area and Graham Harper headed over goalkeeper Paul Seuke.
Lewes made it 2-0 on 26 minutes with a powerful header by Tony Reid after an excellent cross by Harper on the right.
Three minutes after the restart, Chertsey defender Ben Ferris turned a low cross from Danny Davis into his own net and it was 4-0 on 61 minutes when another inch-perfect ball from man of the match Harper found an unmarked Lee Newman on the penalty spot and he turned to finish well.
Five minutes from time the home side scored a close-range consolation through John Pomroy but there was still time for Lewes to add a fifth with a marvellous strike from substitute Jon Palmer who calmly chipped Seuke.
