A severely depleted St Leonards pulled off a remarkable 3-1 victory over Dartford in the Eastern Division thanks to three long-range strikes.

Shorn of ten players through suspension or injury and with just one substitute, Saints would probably have been content with keeping the score down.

But luck finally shone on the Firs outfit who claimed their first league win since October 12.

Manager Gary Bowyer said: "I thought we were going to lose. I called 40 players last night but couldn't get anyone.

"To go 1-0 down I thought it would be nice if we got a draw. I'm sure teams come here thinking they are going to win without getting a game."

Tommy Martin's 25-yard cracker in the 33rd minute gave Dartford a deserved lead and Saints looked to going nowhere until Jimmy Elford fired high into the net from 25 yards five minutes after the restart - the club's first goal in seven games.

Elford then went off injured but replacement Stuart Leppard scored the goal of a lifetime from 35 yards to give the hosts the lead 13 minutes from time.

Michael Morgan wrapped it up with a low 25 yard drive in stoppage time.
