Sidley bounced back from their midweek RUR Cup final defeat to beat Arundel 2-0 with second-half goals.
Adam Day and Wes Tate combined impressively to set up strikes for Dave Ward and Kevin Rose.
Boss Peter Heritage admitted: "We were a bit flat in the first half but we got going after the break."
Horsham YMCA were four goals up at the break as they beat visiting Pagham 5-2.
Nick Flint scored twice, Matt Duffield saw his header helped in by a defender and Mark Francis netted with his less-favoured right foot.
Two substitutes combined for YM's fifth as Gil Taylor converted a Paul Young corner but Neil Topley and Stewart McIntosh restored pride for the Lions.
YM manager John Suter said: "We had a bit of fortune with a couple of goals but I'm pretty pleased overall."
Pat Harding scored Hassocks' leveller in a 2-1 home win over Sidlesham but was later taken off injured as was team mate Dave Smith.
Matt Simpson hit the winner, rounding off a game which had started badly for the hosts when Nick Newman's bad back pass let in Richard Davies to put Sidlesham ahead.
Hassocks boss Dave John said: "We worked hard and deserved to win."
An excellent 30-yard strike from Paul Ford was enough to give Ringmer a 1-0 win at home to local rivals Hailsham Town.
