Police stations are to be opened for longer under plans aimed at making the Sussex force more accessible.
More than 100 extra opening hours each week will result from the changes announced by Chief Constable Ken Jones.
Mr Jones hopes uniform opening hours will help end confusion for the public about when to attend their police station.
By the end of the year, Grove Road police station in Eastbourne is likely to be open from 8am until midnight seven days a week.
The station, next door to the town hall, is currently open 8am to 10pm seven days a week.
Stations will open for ten hours a day Monday to Friday and for eight hours on Saturdays in Hailsham, Newhaven, Uckfield, Crowborough, Seaford and Lewes.
Opening hours have varied widely across Sussex but now, as part of a review, consistent opening hours are to be introduced.
The new hours follow a trial in Rye and Battle, the results of which will influence standard hours for rural areas across Sussex.
Mr Jones said: "Policing is a round-the-clock operation but people saw a closed front office and felt we'd shut up shop and gone home.
"This shows we've listened to residents and we're acting on their wishes, putting the police station back at the heart of our communities."
