Sussex enjoyed a double success at the women's British Isles Championships in Belfast.
Carol Ashby and Pat Bain (Eastbourne) took the pairs title and Debbie Stavrou, Brenda Bailey and Di Whittingham (Preston Club) were victorious in the triples.
Ashby breaks the mould in the traditional world of bowls.
She sported a diamond nose stud, maroon and silver streaks in her hair and painted her nails blue and yellow.
Ashby and Bain were 6-0 behind after just for ends as Scottish pair Peggy Hewitt and Shona Hogg made a fast start.
They recovered to lead 15-12 but a spirited charge by the Scots gave them a17-16 lead going into the final end.
Ashby and Bain, the recently crowned English champions, pounced with a double to snatch victory 18-17.
Stavrou, Bailey and Whittingham, the English champions, produced a great finish to take the triples crown.
They were 4-0 down to Maureen Tanner's Welsh champions after four ends but romped home 19-11.
